After completing college in 1968, S. Thomas Tobias worked in the family owned HVAC business, Tobias Heating and Air Conditioning. As a result of the oil embargo and rising customer energy costs, Tom formed teleco in 1976 while continuing his education in the relatively new field of energy management.

Since 1976, teleco has provided energy saving solutions while helping reduce the growing demand on our country’s limited energy supply.

Since 1980, S.Thomas Tobias, Design Engineer, has been identified as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a Certified Energy Auditor (CEA) by the Association of Energy Engineers. In 1985, the Association of Energy Engineers certified teleco as an Energy Management Systems Contractor (EMSC). teleco also has been:

• Certified by Honeywell as a Commercial Comfort & Energy Specialist (CCES),
  
• Certified to air balance by the National Comfort Institute (NCI), and
  
• Member of Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) since 1980.
